John Rohrer Contracting Company, Inc. was founded in 1922 by John Felix Rohrer, a Swiss immigrant. For the next 25 years John and his son Emil proceeded in building the reputation of the company as a quality oriented specialist in concrete construction.
Upon the death of Emil in 1948, Walter J. Rohrer, Emil's brother took over leadership of the company. For the next 30 years Walter's leadership, entrepreneurial nature, innovative ideas, and genuine enthusiasm allowed the company to grow in a steady fashion while maintaining a dedication to providing clients quality in concrete construction.
Walter retired in 1978, leaving the company committed to the Rohrer family's legacy of quality. The Company is now run by Walter's son, John Rohrer. That constant spirit of innovation, enthusiasm, and quality remains as vibrant today as it did over 80 years ago. This committment is also evidenced in that many of Rohrer's key employees are second or third generation.
